This was Gigi’s favourite quality time with me and Zack. Whenever I sat on the bench – morning, noon and night, Gigi would perch on my preggie bellie and purr away. Zack must have felt some strange vibrations in there…….

Zack is now considered full term – ihis skin is plump, the lungs are mature, the mammary glands and external genital structures are visible. There is some lanugo on the shoulders and back; some of the vernix remains in the folds of the skin, especially around the groin and armpits..

My work guys and girls gave me a Surprise !!!! urgent meeting. So I prepared for it in the finest details and then this happened.
The girls asked me difficult question: like…. what does this and that thing do in the packets do. I tried my best to make up things…..
I still do not know what Gripe Water does.

I was expecting a surprise of some sort on Saturday 8 February, but the lengths to which Anna-Retha and Henriette went to was mind-blowing and amazing. Riaan tried to play along with the surprise and made as if we had an appointment in Stellenbosch. Instead we headed to Durbanville and ended up at Soet, a restaurant in Oxford street. What a beautiful surprise, a fantastic venue and 17 special ladies who had supported me throughout my pregnancy. Blue delicious cupcakes and refreshing quiche was the menu. I felt totally spoilt rotten. Look at everything that Zack was blessed with……
An amazing variety of baby products: toilettries, toys, nappies, clothes. you name it and we got it. We now have everything that Zack needs to start of with. We are thankful and blessed to have been given so much!!!

En dan!!!!!! Die ducky. Dis n ducky wat bad temeratuur meet. Dis nou die kleintjie, en toe hy gese is hy gaan n nuwe huisie kry toe vra sy maatjie of hy mag saam want ducky gaan alleen wees.

I had such an awesome surprise at work on Friday – my first stork party. There were so many of the ladies at work present. Zack got a woollies voucher, beautiful soft powder blue blanket and bibs. The food was really yummy – just what a hungry mommy wanted!

Waldette and I are very particular when it comes the meaning of a name and have chosen a name accordingly……
My name “Riaan” means “Little King”. I refused to have a son with a name that means second or meek or small or anything in that line.
So, we do have a name and I will post it shortly…..just watch this space!!!!!
Some 36 week info:
Baby is still packing on the kg’s— at a rate of about an 28g per day or 200g per week. Our son now weighs almost 3kg and is more than 49cm long.
At the end of this week, baby will be considered full-term.
And he already has bouts of hiccups, according to Waldette.
